1981 Honda Silver Wing GL500

The Honda GL500 Silver Wing is a spin-off from another bike in the Honda lineup — the CX500, which had been introduced in 1978. The Silver Wing – and its more lavishly equipped partner the Silver Wing Interstate – were introduced in 1981.

Sales of the GL500 were great. This was an eminently practical motor¬cycle for commuters, for two-wheeled delivery and messenger riders, for the mild-mannered type who liked the charm of two wheels without hassle and botheration. The tubeless tires were a good sales point.

It has liquid cooling, shaft drive and air adjustable suspension front and rear. A very sensible motorcycle and midsize touring bike.
